Offaly Local Development Company is currently seeking to recruit a
Community Development Animator. The successful candidate will play a
vital role as part of the Offaly Local Development Company team, in
supporting communities and groups to address issues which affect them,
and supporting the creation of solutions developed in response.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
* Pro-active outreach and engagement, consultation and community
engagement and planning with communities experiencing challenges
ranging from decline in services, changes in local employment to
population decline.
* Development and support work with local community groups,
organisations and networks to address the issues and priorities
identified through this process in collaboration with the agencies
best placed to address these needs.
* Support the development / delivery of initiatives established as a
result, including life-long learning supports, youth engagement and
development projects and social enterprise activities.
* Provision of support to groups to move through the structured
stages of progression and participate in local, regional and national
decision making structures which can improve outcomes for their
community of interest.
The successful applicant will have 7 years professional experience
working with disadvantaged communities and marginalised individuals in
a developmental capacity. A relevant 3rd level or Professional
Qualification in related fields is essential.
